Many people think that the ideal length for tweets is 140 characters which happens to be the upper character limit. But that is wrong. When other people scan their Twitter feeds, they don't fully read all the tweets, but rather scan them. And their eyes naturally land on the tweets that are easiest to read. So if your tweets are shorter than 140 characters, it will become more attractive to people, and they will focus on your tweets more than other tweets and you will get more engagement which will help you get more followers and retweets.

I show you how to use hashtags, and how hashtags can help you reach more people that wouldn't ordinarily have found your business. In a way, hashtags work like directories under which content can be found. But hashtags are much more dynamic than simple directories, and they are an integral part of social media.

If you continuously use certain hashtags in your tweets (especially if those tweets get a good amount of engagement), you will begin to gain a certain authority within those hashtags on Twitter, and Twitter will keep your tweets up there longer than other tweets.
